You all know HashBMX.com is daily written in polish but for now I feel like I really need to write in english. Why? Because of what we all have witnessed last night (polish local time) during Nitro World Games BMX Best Trick Finals.

Long story short:
After 4th run David Godziek was called out as the Winner, show host did interview with him and David couldn’t be more happy.
Then at morning we all have seen information about the podium and…it was shock. David wasn’t 1st, not 2nd or even 3rd. As you will see official standings below, he ended up on 7th place.
Top 3 were:
1) Ryan Williams
2) Brandon Loupos
3) Jaie Toohey

So we’re all asking WHAT HAPPENED THERE?
Please read what we found out and share this to show Nitro Circus that they don’t promote any progression at all with things like this!

UPDATE:
Here you can read what we get as an answer and what is real problem for us.

These are final standings of BMX Best Trick after 4 run from which only 2 best counts.

So what happened during the final 4th run or even during whole finals?
Ryan Williams tried to tell us that judges mistakenly took David’s 720 frontflip nohander from his 4th run for 1080 frontflip nohander and gave him way too big note.
Then my first question is WHAT’S WRONG WITH THESE JUDGES?! Didn’t they know what gonna happen during this contest? What about others 720’s and 1080’s? How guys could be sure that they were scored well for what they did?!

UPDATE:
Official press office stated in email:
„The BMX Best Tricks trophy presentation was not aired during the NBC live broadcast because the judges reviewed a trick for accuracy after the competition ended. Replays of Dawid Godziek’s fourth run showed that he did one less rotation than first thought. The resulting change in score put Ryan Williams on top, and made him a two-time BMX Best Tricks champion.”

So you really thinking that is all we want to read about whole situation?! You can’t be serious 😉

Then someone stated that David did the same 720 frontflip nohander in hist 1st and 4th runs and probably that’s why judges somehow didn’t count it after all.
WRONG ANSWER. Here is Zack Warden with scoring for his all runs. He did backflip bikeflip in 1st run, then he did it with tailwhip in 3rd run and want something else in 4th run but ended up again just with clean backflip bikeflip. Look at his scores.

Warden

Correct me if I’m wrong but by this way of scoring David should get at least around 8.00 – 8.40pts for doing again the same thing, right?
Alright we know Zack pulled one combo and then add another trick to it in 3rd run and David just did twice the same on trick, but then whole scoring should be a bit different don’t you think?!

As we all have seen he gets 9.94.

4 for probably mistaken trick. BUT THIS DOESN’T MATTER AT ALL!
You posted it and you called it WINNER in front of cameras and whole stadium!

Schowek0c

Let’s move on!
As you see on the first pic with overall standings, David ended up with 12.58pts and we really struggling to find out WHAT IT”S FOR?!

If judges wouldn’t score last run at all (WHY?!) then he should get 2 best runs what means 1st and 3rd and that would give him 12.27pts NOT 12.58pts
If judges would sum all his 3 runs until the 4th one (WHY? if only 2 best runs counts?!) then he shoule ended up with 13.23pts but this makes no sense!

And last and most possible scenario:
If judges would score 4th run around 8.00pts for example, he would ended up with 17.13pts for example and place him on 3rd!
So we’re asking ourselft and mostly Nitro Circus – WHAT REALLY HAPPENED and why you ripped off David Godziek from taking gold medal?

THIS ISNT ANY PROGRESSION AT ALL WHEN YOU GIVE A MEDALS TO YOUR OWN BOYS INSTEAD OF GUY WHO IS WORKING HIS ASS OF TO SHOW HE DESERVES IT. AS MUCH AS HE DESERVES MORE ATTENTION FROM WORLD BMX.

You really think people don’t see this?!
Please explain it to us, we really want to know the answer :)

UPDATE:
Here you can find few last words about whole thing and read what is real problem for us!

You can watch whole BMX Best Trick coverage down below. It starts at 1:47:11 and ends around 2:30:50 without calling out the TOP3.
